"Where the heart of Barrington High School meets the soul of the Dakota people"
Each summer, the Lakota outreach course is offered at BHS. This academic and experiential opportunity, selects 30 District 220 students to participate in a complete culture immersion on the Crow Creek Reservation. The academic component is presented in a course at BHS, immediately followed by an 8 day trip. The students participate in reclaiming Dakota history, values, culture, and sacred ceremonies.
Our goal is to produce a full documentary highlighting the issues facing the Lakota, Dakota, & Nakota people. Our documentary will be presented at various venues, and film festivals.
