Each summer, the Lakota outreach course is offered at BHS. This academic and experiential opportunity, selects 30 District 220 students to participate in a complete culture immersion on the Crow Creek Reservation. The academic component is presented in a course at BHS, immediately followed by an 8 day trip. The students participate in reclaiming Dakota history, values, culture, and sacred ceremonies. Our goal is to produce a full documentary highlighting the issues facing the Lakota, Dakota, & Nakota people. Our documentary will be presented at various venues, and film festivals.
